Fiorentina set to hijack West Brom's £4m pursuit of Juventus striker

Fiorentina are set to hijack West Brom's £4m pursuit of experienced striker Fabio Quagliarella.
The Juventus man had been linked with a move to the Hawthorns this summer but is now likely to stay in Serie A.
The Midlands club, who have yet to appoint a new manager following the departure of Pepe Mel, have been unable to step up their interest in the 31-year-old.
Quagliarella managed just one goal in 16 league appearances for the Serie A champions last term and hinted in an interview with FirenzeViola.it he is keen to move back to Fiorentina having spent the 2002-03 season on loan at Florence club.
He said: "Fiorentina? It is one of my options and who knows if I can return to the Viola shirt or not. I had an amazing time in Florence and the fans there have always shown me affection.
"I'll see what happens in the summer."
Quagliarella has enjoyed a colourful career in the Italian top flight and played for several clubs including Sampdoria, Udinese and Napoli, as well as earning 25 caps for Italy.
